When you REACH a CERTAIN age are you suppose to look a certain way? Of course not, so why do people think when you get “Old” this happens and that happens. We have been taught to believe it, therefore, it happens just like everyone said it would but it does not happen to everyone. Why?

There is ONE main reason. Choices, some people make different choices thereby looking and feeling young well into their later years.

LOOKING and BEING YOUNGER is on every woman’s mind regardless of age, and the media makes sure of that. From time-to-time, it can be challenging to stay focused on beauty and self-care when we have such busy lives. We allow other things to demand our attention.

However, taking care of yourself is a top priority because you don’t want the years to pass by then you look in the mirror one day and wonder whose face is staring back at you.

  1. Always wear sunglasses. They protect your eyes from the sun, and they are the first area in your face that shows signs of aging, especially underneath your eyes. If you are a smoker, know that this will dry out your skin sooner and create additional lines around your mouth. Smile more to keep the frown lines away on your forehead. Smile lines are good; smoking lines well you be the judge of that.
  2. Have a good attitude about life. This alone keeps people young. If you ‘re always angry about what’s happening, it actually ages you faster. Frown lines will stick around longer. Our thoughts control our actions so if you consider yourself old you will act old, and your body will reflect that attitude. Also, don’t let others put you in a box because of a number, if you want to experience something new then do it. The people who spend their time talking will keep doing that while you’re out having the time of your life.
  3. Avoid rapid weight loss or yo-yo dieting. Radically gaining and losing weight can affect your face and can cause you to look older than your years. If you want to look good for a reunion, get in shape the right way; you will regret it later if you try to rush the process. It’s not always easy and nothing is guaranteed; if you get hurt, you can get up, brush yourself off and keep it moving.
  6. Upgrade your eating habits. Try eating unprocessed good food, green vegetables, and colorful fruits. Raw eating will alkalize your body and assist with fighting off those bad things like aging cells. Food can be medicine or poison, if you eat poison, your skin and hair will suffer along with the rest of your body. Love your body because it’s your temple so treat it well. Also, check in with your doctor to see what vitamin and minerals your body is deficient in so you correct it immediately. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to shrink because my bones were neglected.
  7. Exercising regularly. This will keep your body strong and make you feel amazing. Lifting weight maintains muscle mass, which we lose over time if we neglect them so check with your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough to lift weights if you are you will love the results.
  8. Become passionate about your life and living. Adopting this attitude will keep you active, youthful, and learning and trying new things. I’m learning ceramics and how to play the piano. I’m having so much fun and it’s relaxing for me as well. So don’t be a boring girl, if you enjoy multiple things who knows who you might meet while playing.
  9. Get enough sleep every night. Proper rest is very important for everyone. People who don’t get enough good sleep will definitely show it in their face with luggage and shadows under the eyes. Proper sleep will also give you lots of energy to make the changes you want in your life.
